Ria Sebetsa Security sponsors a child’s education

Chief executive officer of Ria Sebetsa Security Services is inviting deserving children from government schools around the Midrand area to apply for school fees funding.

Ria Sebetsa Security Services, in partnership with Midrand Reporter is giving deserving schoolchildren an opportunity to have six months of their school fees paid for.

Ria Sebetsa invites schools and children from public schools around the Greater Midrand area to write motivational letters to the Midrand Reporter explaining why they should have their fees paid. Chief executive officer for Ria Sebesta Security Services, Danny Maduray said the company had started the initiative to give back to the community.

“In previous years, we sponsored the SPCA, a school in Diepsloot, a shelter for abused women and children, and many others,” said Maduray.

“We don’t like sponsoring the same organisation every time in a bid to reduce that spirit of expectancy and complacency. When I looked at who to sponsor this year, my wife suggested we sponsor a child’s education.” He explained that his wife is an academic, so education is very important to her.

“We have so many brilliant children who are disadvantaged by their circumstances. I want to be able to make a difference in at least a few children’s lives.

Deserving children from public schools in the Midrand area are encouraged to apply to have their school fees paid by Ria Sebetsa Security Services.

“Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. I want to take just a tiny step to change a child’s life towards him or her changing the world.”

Two lucky children will have their fees paid for six months, making it four children who will be sponsored a year.

Children from Grade 1 to 12 can apply.

The following must be included in the motivational letter:

  • The applicant’s email address
  • A reference from the school
  • Contact details for a parent.

“If the initiative becomes successful, I will consider doing it every year, as education is the key to taking children out of their circumstances. This community gives to me by supporting me. I give back to the community with these small initiatives,” concluded Maduray.

Details: Letters must be emailed to [email protected]
