Blue Hills College and its sister school Blue Hills Preparatory hosted its first open day on 9 June.

Blue Hills Preparatory is headed by Jesika Maharaj, a veteran in the education field who is a firm believer in small classes and one-on-one education.

The school focuses on child development – academically, socially, physically, spiritually and emotionally.

“The event was a great success with many parents eagerly enrolling their children,” said administrator of Blue Hills College, Amanda Moyo.

Preschools around Midrand were invited to participate in a talent show during the open day. Principals enthusiastically took up the challenge to demonstrate their schools’ talent and creativity. Orange Babies Montessori secured first place, followed by Mighty Ark in second place, Bophelo Bo Bontle in third place, ChildSol in fourth place and Moolas Preschool in fifth place.

“The little ones did not disappoint and put forth a well organised energetic performance. These schools are headed by dynamic, committed and visionary leaders. Blue Hills Preparatory is honoured to be working with such innovative thinkers in the education of children in Midrand.”

Blue Hills Preparatory will officially open in January next year. The first phase comprises 12 classrooms and the construction of the administration block will be completed by November this year. “Our phase two will be completed in May next year. Classes will comprise 20 to 25 learners. Admissions to the school are most welcomed, and parents are encouraged to send their applications timeously.”
