A recent stop-and-search at one of Midrand’s hotspots – the corner of Dale and Modderfontein roads – saw the arrest of two people who were found to be in possession of dagga.

About 667 people and 66 vehicles were stopped and searched. The stop-and-search was held by the Midrand police under the leadership of Colonel David Mahloromela, the head of visible policing at the Midrand Police Station on 22 June.

The operation began at 5.30am and targeted the morning peak-hour traffic. Midrand police spokesperson, Sergeant Matome Tlamela, said the operation was successful and more operations would take place across Midrand.

Details: Midrand Police Station 011 347 1626.
